February Half Day Workshop and Monthly Meeting
In February, we welcome back Glenn Gelabert to speak to us on the topic of "Raising YOUR Personal Level of Performance." Mr. Gelabert has spoken to EPSHRM in the past and has proven to be very motivational to all who have heard him. We are very lucky to have him join us in February.

The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, February 22nd, at the El Paso Club, with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. and the seminar beginning right at 8:00 a.m. Cost for the seminar is $75 for members and $95 for guests, which includes coffee, snacks, and lunch. Cost for the luncheon meeting only is $18 for members and $23 for guests.

Certification Prep Class at UTEP
The Certification Prep class is once again being offered at UTEP. Beginning on Saturday, February 4, 2012, the class will run for 13 sessions and cover all the information and modules needed to successfully pass the PHR or SPHR exams. Leadership Meeting with Congressman Reyes
Recently, 2011 EPSHRM President Fred Perea, PHR, 2011 VP of Membership Betsy Keller, SPHR, and SHRM-TSC District Director Linda Ball-Thomas, PHR, met with Congressman Silvestre Reyes. This meeting allowed them to discuss employment-related concerns with our local representative to the federal government. Fred will share more with us about this visit at our upcoming meeting.

"Ask EPSHRM" Form and Blog
EPSHRM is adding an interactive function called, "Ask EPSHRM." Members can download the "Ask EPSHRM" form here and submit their questions to administrator@epshrm.org. From there, we will answer your question and respond to you. We may also post the question and answer to the new Blog. Our hope is to make EPSHRM more interactive and useful to our members. Please join us at September's Meeting (see below) for more detailed information.
